€850 seems like a lot for configuration work. What am I actually getting?
Fair question. Let me break down what you're actually getting: APM agents configured per your stack, host monitoring, browser monitoring, Docker monitoring, synthetic checks (ping, page load, SSL), alert policies with sane thresholds, Slack/email delivery, Apache/Nginx/MySQL dashboards, plus a setup document (The Foundation Kit) you can hand to any future hire. That's 8+ New Relic features configured by someone who's been doing this since 2023. Most teams spend 2–3 weeks trial-and-erroring this, getting noisy alerts, and eventually ignoring them. You're paying to skip that.
Can you do it for less?
The price is €850. It's one package, one price — Docker and everything else included. If budget is tight, I can split the payment: €425 now, €425 on delivery. But I don't strip features out. Every piece in the package is there because it matters in production.
Why you specifically? Anyone can install a New Relic agent.
Installing the agent is 5 minutes. Knowing what to alert on, what thresholds make sense for your traffic patterns, and how to avoid alert fatigue — that's the part that takes experience. I've done this for SaaS companies, security companies, and my own production systems since 2023. I was responsible for New Relic monitoring at Warrant Hub S.p.A. and contributed to their ISO 27001 certification — so I understand monitoring through a compliance lens too. Most "just install the agent" setups generate 40+ alerts a day and get muted within a week. Mine don't.
We already have Sentry / We use Datadog / We have Grafana.
Then this package isn't for you — and that's fine. If you're happy with your current observability stack, there's nothing to fix. But if you're on a free tier that's not giving you real insight, or your current setup is noisy and nobody looks at it, that's where I come in.

You probably can. The question is whether you should. Every hour your dev team spends configuring monitoring is an hour not shipping features. Most teams I work with could figure it out in 2–3 weeks of part-time tinkering. I do it in under a week, and you get a setup doc so when you hire your next dev, they don't have to reverse-engineer anything.
What if we don't like the setup? What if you disappear?
During the 14-day tuning window (included), we adjust. Wrong threshold? Too many alerts? We fix it. If after that you're genuinely unhappy — or if I get hit by a bus — the Foundation Kit means any competent DevOps engineer can pick up where I left off. Every alert, every threshold, every configuration decision is documented. You're never locked in.
Am I committing to anything ongoing?
No. The €850 is one-shot. You get the configured account and The Foundation Kit. After that, you have two optional paths: a €200 one-time tuning pass over 2 weeks, or €250/mo if you want me to own it ongoing. Zero commitment beyond the initial setup.
Can you also build us custom dashboards for the CEO?
Custom dashboards and NRQL queries aren't part of this package — it's a setup and alerting package, not a dashboard design service. If you need that, I'm happy to quote it separately at my standard rate (€65/hr). But honestly, once the data is in New Relic, building dashboards is drag-and-drop. The hard part is getting clean data in.
We're on Kubernetes / AWS / Windows. Will this work?
Then this package isn't the right fit. I specialize in Linux + Docker Compose setups with PHP and Node.js stacks. If you're on K8s or multi-cloud, I'm happy to refer you to someone who specializes in that, or we can talk about a custom engagement at my hourly rate. But I'd rather be upfront than take your money for something outside my sweet spot.

Will this increase my New Relic bill?
Full instrumentation generates more data than running bare agents. If you're on New Relic's free tier (100 GB/month), a properly instrumented app will likely exceed it. Before we start, I'll help you estimate your expected data volume and confirm your pricing tier makes sense. I don't control your NR bill — you do — but I'll make sure there are no surprises.
What about GDPR and data sovereignty?
I access your server directly via SSH. No data leaves your infrastructure during setup. Your New Relic account remains under your ownership and billing. All monitoring data stays within your NR account's configured region. You remain the data controller throughout.
