Laravel architecture & performance

With extensive Laravel experience, I help teams unlock the performance and maintainability of their applications.

• Audit slow applications and identify bottlenecks (N+1 queries, heavy jobs, missing indexes).
• Review and improve caching strategy so your app can handle traffic spikes (including events like a Hacker News front page).
• Inspect and advise on database queries and schema design to keep things fast and predictable.

• Design and build Laravel‑based SaaS products that can grow with your traffic.
• Implement authentication, billing, teams/permissions, background jobs, and monitoring from day one.
• Build internal tools for busy teams who lack the bandwidth to work on them in‑house, based on clear requirements and minimal disruption to your existing workflows.

All projects are built to a high standard with room for future expansion, and include documentation, automated tests, and static analysis (PHPStan).

Fractional CTO for early‑stage startups

If you are a non‑technical founder, I can act as a fractional CTO for the early stage of your product.

These engagements work best with a clear compensation and exit plan and a limited time frame (typically under one year).

How I work

• We start with an email where you describe your project and goals. If needed, we schedule a call to clarify requirements and constraints.
• I strongly prefer asynchronous communication for focus and deep work, but I can join a Slack (or similar) channel for your team. I am not available 24/7, but I respond within agreed working hours.
• I can work with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or a self‑hosted Git provider that is publicly reachable.
• Before starting, we agree on scope, budget, and a delivery schedule, so expectations are clear on both sides.
